GAICC AI Conference & Awards 2026 "Governing the Future – Building Responsible, Safe and Human-centric AI"
Organisations across Malaysia are using AI every day. Boards, regulators and customers now want to see that it is governed. Our first AI Governance Meetup in Kuala Lumpur brought GAICC members, certified graduates, training partners and practitioners into one room to talk about what that proof looks like in practice.
The afternoon covered the global AI picture, the GAICC AI Governance Framework and Maturity Model, real stories from Malaysian graduates, and an introduction to the local partners helping organisations build AI governance capability.

Head of AI Governance, GAICC
Joining live online, Dr Latha opened the programme with a fast briefing on the AI landscape: the developments that matter most for governance teams right now, and why the gap between using AI and governing AI keeps getting wider.
The session set the context for the rest of the afternoon. AI is no longer a side project. It sits inside everyday workflows, and that means organisations need clear ownership, clear controls and people trained to run them.
CEO, GAICC
In the main session of the day, Dr Faiz walked attendees through how GAICC helps organisations move from good intentions to governance they can demonstrate. He covered four connected building blocks:
Together they show where an organisation stands today, what good looks like at each stage, the practical steps to get there, and the credentials that equip people to lead that work.

Two GAICC graduates shared their journeys in ten-minute talks: why they chose to certify in AI governance, what the learning looked like, and how they are applying it in their roles and organisations.
Hearing from local practitioners gave attendees a grounded view of what AI governance work looks like in Malaysia today.

Our Malaysian partners each took fifteen minutes to introduce their organisations and how they support local professionals and businesses on their AI governance journey, from training delivery to hands-on consultancy.
Local partners are central to how GAICC reaches organisations across the region, making globally recognised AI governance credentials accessible close to home.
The day closed with an open floor. Attendees put their questions to the GAICC team, partners and graduates, followed by closing remarks and time to connect with peers working on the same challenges.
Governance only counts when you can show it to a board, a regulator or a customer.
A maturity model shows where you stand today and what the next stage looks like.
Practical, staged steps turn a framework into work your teams can actually deliver.
