Any candidate, certified person, employer, or member of the public may appeal a certification decision or raise a complaint about GAICC’s activities — free of charge.
Our commitment
GAICC is committed to handling every appeal and complaint impartially, promptly, and free of charge. Appeals and complaints are reviewed by people who were not involved in the original decision or the matter raised. We acknowledge every submission, keep you informed of progress, and give you the outcome in writing. Submitting an appeal or complaint will never disadvantage you.
Appeal or complaint — which one?
Appeal
Challenge a decision about you
Use an appeal if you want GAICC to reconsider a decision that affects your certification — for example an examination result, a certification decision, or a suspension or withdrawal.
Complaint
Raise a concern about our activities
Use a complaint to tell us about a problem with GAICC’s service, an examination-day issue, a concern about impartiality, or the misuse of a GAICC certificate or mark by another party.
How we handle it
Acknowledge. We confirm we have received your submission within 5 working days.
Assign impartially. Your case is assigned to a reviewer independent of the original decision or matter.
Review. We assess the facts and any evidence objectively and may contact you for more information.
Outcome. We give you a written decision within 30 days, with the reasons.
Escalate. If you remain dissatisfied, you may request an independent escalation review.
